Jan 2026
I cannot update the Show Program to match the 2026 breed and variety changes.
This means the Show Program has reached the end of its useful life.
Here are brief answers to common questions.
When will the Show Program stop working?
What happens if I keep using the Show Program?
What about new license requests?
Here's a summary of what happened.
My development computer crashed during December's "Patch Tuesday" updates. This corrupted the license to Delphi, my main Development tool. I tried to update the Delphi license but it didn't work. The Delphi/Embarcadero folks said I should reinstall from scratch on a clean machine. That's turned out to be a problem as well. I also relied on many third party software pieces to compile the Show Program. Some of these pieces have their own licenses and some have gone out of business. (The Show Program has been around for 25+ years so the development software is that old.)
I hate that this is so abrupt. I'd hoped to spend more time trying to get things working. But it's not fair to clubs and secretaries waiting for a release with the convention changes. I realize clubs have shows coming up and can't be sitting in limbo while I see if I can get things working.
A note on the online version of the Show Program I was working on.
I won't be moving forward with the online version by myself. If anyone would like to take over or help code this, I have a back end written in Google's Go language. The front end needs coding. HTML/JavaScript so it works everywhere. All source code would be open source. I'm happy to help with the back end but am no longer interested in coding the front end.
Thank you for your support over the years.
